Nicole meet IVF, IVF meet Nicole
...because today was my IVF consultation appointment.
I have a renewed sense of hope; a renewed sense of vigor; a renewed sense of Let's Do This. Today I met with Dr. Kim, my regular reproductive endocrinologist, for the low-down on IVF. Now, I've done enough research on the aforementioned subject to start charging others for briefings, but it's all part of the process. Dr. Kim filled in the bones to my skeleton knowledge of IVF -- reviewing facts, figures, research, risks, procedures, timelines, and success (and failure) rates.
Kyle and I are fully informed of the risks, benefits, and alternatives to IVF, and we are fully committed to moving forward.
We have about a month before we start the actual medical side of IVF -- still having to sit with the IVF coordinator and financial coordinator (unfortunately the next available start date isn't until mid-September). In addition, Kyle and I have decided not to reveal our true start date in order to relieve some of the pressure and stress, but fingers crossed we will be announcing the good news before 2015.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to use medical intervention, and with God's blessing and the knowledge and skill of our doctors, we will have success. Just keep remembering:
God is good, and He will provide.
